For four decades, the Lions of Poona Ganeshkhind have shown up wherever Pune has needed a hand — quietly, consistently, together.
The Lions Club of Poona Ganeshkhind was chartered on 20th June 1984. A handful of neighbours set out with a simple conviction — that ordinary people, organised and committed, could do extraordinary good.
In our early years we ran health camps and school-support drives. As we grew, so did our ambition: in 2013 we opened our first Ganeshkhind Dialysis Centre, making life-saving treatment affordable at just Rs. 500 a session.
Today we are more than 200 members strong — doctors, architects, entrepreneurs, teachers and traders — running dialysis centres, schools, plantation drives and community kitchens across the city.
Through it all, the mission has never changed. We serve under the banner of Lions Clubs International, united by three small words: To Serve.
Founded in 1917, Lions is the world's largest service-club organisation — 1.4 million members in over 200 countries. As DISTRICT 3234 D 2's Ganeshkhind chapter, we carry that global legacy into the lanes of Pune.
Chartered on 20th June under Lions Clubs International, DISTRICT 3234 D 2.
